Could you tell us about yourself? *
My name is Majda and I’m a font designer in my free time. I love travel, design and spending time outdoors hiking.
How long have you been in this industry?
I have been in this industry for about 3 – 4 years.
When did you know you wanted to pursue designing and start selling it?
My previous job was not family-friendly so after several years of different courses and a lot of research I realized that font making makes my heart sing. The rest were developed from there.
What inspires you the most? Where do you get your inspiration?
I would say that books and packaging are my main source of inspiration. Whenever I go into town and especially when I travel, I will make sure to browse bookshops, small independent stores, concept stores and take a lot of pictures. If I’m unable to do that, I peruse Dieline, Fonts in Use, and Pinterest.
Are you a traditional or digital artist? What are your preferred mediums to create your designs and graphics?
I started as traditional but mainly use my iPad Pro at the moment.
Could you describe your design style?
Feminine, crafty, romantic and playful.
What is your favorite part of the designing process?
Refining the letters, seeing how they have evolved between being written to the final published version.
Have you ever experienced creative blocks before? How did you handle it?
Often. Go out for a brisk walk or a run to clear my head. Take the morning off.
