Could you tell us about yourself? Where are you from, what do you do, etc.?
Hello! I am Nikita. I live in Houston, Texas with my husband Justin and two crazy little boys; Jude and Harrison. I run a full time design business while I try and keep my chaotic family life together. (I don’t even know where most of the laundry comes from !)
How did your design journey begin?
I have always had a passion for design. I would say probably ever since the moment I was born! After high school I went on to study Interior Design, graduated but unfortunately due to the downfall of the economy, no one was hiring freshly graduated designers. I went on to work in medical billing, and during that time I began digital designing, and I soon found out that I liked it a whole lot more than interior design.

Where do you usually find your inspiration?
I find my inspiration everywhere I go. Sometimes it is a beach trip with my family, other times it is a trip to the store for more laundry detergent.

Pinterest !! it is my go to when I am unable to leave my studio to get inspired.

What are the most common design problems that you face?
I think the biggest problem would be there is not enough time in the day to create!

Final question, do you have any advice or tips for anyone starting to sell their designs?
Do what no one else is, find the problems people don’t know exist, and most importantly don’t compare yourself to other designers, focus on yourself and you will succeed!
