Could you tell us about yourself?
Hey there, my name is Vlad and I’m a graphic designer, typographer, creative director and a happy dog owner. My journey started in Ukraine back in 1991 but I have been living in Bulgaria since 2001. I started freelancing at the age of 19, and 3 years ago I gathered a team of four that work as one and that’s how my VPcreativeshop friends were born! During my free time I enjoy reading, gaming, having good food and drinks in pleasant company. 😁
How long have you been in this industry?
I have been in this industry for about 3 to 4 years.
When did you know you wanted to pursue designing and start selling it?
To be honest, I never thought I had that spark in me. I was browsing for side online gigs because I really needed some money at that time and I found a platform for graphic contests and the amount of money they were offering won me right away. So without any background and skills, I started to design and in the first month, I won 2 contests – it was like a dream to me and in the second month, I won 4 of them and managed to buy my first personal laptop.
After that, I started to lure clients to work with me and I’ve been doing it for 7 years until I got tired of briefs and revisions, and I carved to do whatever I want and make money from it. That’s how I became a product designer now, and thankfully people love what we do and they just want more and more.
What inspires you the most? Where do you get your inspiration?
I’m crazy about everything related to retro, vintage… And at the same time I adore minimal designs. I won’t write cliches like environment, nature and travelling that inspire me. 😁 To be honest, Pinterest is the biggest inspiration for designers around the globe.
Are you a traditional or digital artist? What are your preferred mediums to create your designs and graphics?
Digital for sure. In every part of my products and designs, I rely on simple shapes and geometry. In my mind, design is like pure math and I’m lovin’ it!
Could you describe your design style?
I’d say fusion between retro and modern, traditional and abstract. Art deco is my crush and always will be in my heart, but I’m always open to exploring new horizons and learning new techniques and tricks.
What is your favorite part of the designing process?
My favorite part of the designing process is the idea itself. This happens a lot to me when I was dreaming at night about a particular font and when I’m creating it in the morning, I have to repeat the dream countless times until I have my coffee and start designing it. The next favorite part is making the presentation and testing the product before releasing it.
Have you ever experienced creative blocks before? How did you handle it?
I get burnouts more often than I want it to. Sometimes, it can last weeks and I hate that state of me. I handle it with getting new experiences, doing nothing, a lot of night outs and hard hangovers (they are pretty refreshing).

Do you have any advice or tips for future graphic designers out there?
Hey future designer, when you start something, never give up on it. You won’t see results right away but after a year, two or maybe five you will see how your seeds turn into a beautiful tree.
