This week we have the gorgeous Olga Belova tell us more about herself in this interview below;
Could you tell us about yourself? Where are you from, what do you do, etc.?
Hi! I am from Magadan, Russia. Magadan is a small city located in the Far East of Russia. I am a professional artist, but I am always trying different styles and techniques, and I am still in search of something unique.
How did your design journey begin?
I’ve been drawing and painting since I was a child. I graduated from an art school, then an art college. I have an experience working as a set decorator in theater and a designer in advertising. Two years ago I learnt about microstock and thought it could be a wonderful opportunity to make some extra money. Later, I came across TheHungryJPEG which turned out to be more interesting than drawing tons of similar stock pictures.

Where do you usually find your inspiration?
I have a small son, so my works are related to children and everything that is about them. When my son and I were doing a project about dinosaurs, I was drawing dinosaurs. 😊 Moreover, I just love animals. I also like the place I am living in. The nature is absolutely wonderful here; wild and unspoiled. It resembles North Canada or Alaskan nature. I am into the aboriginal culture (Even, Chukcha, Koryak) – tales, dances, clothes, and ornaments. It’s just fascinating.

Any favourite design references that you can share that might be helpful for other designers as well?
I like looking at designs of other artists on Behance; it gives me an understanding of what the current trends are.

What are the most common design problems that you face?
It’s a lack of free time. I want to learn and try so many things that it I wish there were 48 hours in a day! It seems to me I am just not moving anywhere right now.

Final question, do you have any advice or tips for anyone starting to sell their designs?
I think one should do what they really like hence they won’t lack inspiration and will always enjoy their job. Surely, never give up, move towards your goal and always try to improve!
